About

My Approach and Services

I work with adult individuals and couples in Washington state as both a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) and certified nutritionist (CN). I graduated from Bastyr University with a master’s of science in nutrition and a master’s of arts in counseling psychology. I received my bachelor's of science in physiology/biology from the University of Washington. As a relational psychodynamic therapist, my focus is on understanding and actively participating in the relationship we have in the therapeutic space to explore your psychic structure and interpersonal relations. I find that what happens in the therapy room is a replication of what you may experience in the real world. Your job in our work is to show up honestly and willing to share as uncensored/unfiltered as possible. My job is to attend to your affect, thoughts, feelings, and offer reflections on patterns, defenses, and experiences evoked that will guide us in this collaborative approach of self-exploration. My belief is that the more we understand the depth of our feelings and the stories informing our reactions, to self and others, the more we can orient towards the path of healing. I am not a solution focused therapist but rather a process based/depth therapist who is interested in guiding you in your process of self-discovery. My hope is to empower you in building a life that is in congruence with your values, and process the resilient ways in which you have learned to adapt to and/or cope with this world. I work with various mental health concerns including relationship concerns, trauma, personal identity, depression, anxiety, disordered eating, body image concerns, stress, low self-esteem, codependency, boundary setting, emotional regulation, grief/loss, assimilation, First Responders, and more. I utilize a relational psychodynamic and existential approach and integrate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Existential Psychotherapy, Attachment Theory, parts language (e.g. IFS), and somatic theories in my work. I also work with adult couples who are struggling with aspects of their relationship including communication, trust, emotional security, and life style transitions. Any of these concerns I approach from an EFT and attachment based perspective. Nutrition counseling sessions can include any of the following topics: - General nutrition support for medical conditions (incl.: cardiovascular health, gut and digestive health, adrenal health, metabolic health, fertility, and more) - Basic nutrition information - Balancing meals - Education on whole foods selection and preparation - Recipes and meal plan ideas (incl.: vegetarian, vegan, whole foods, etc.) - Supportive nutrition for mental health - Learning and processing HAES® and IE frameworks - Support for disordered eating or eating disorders - Restoring relationship with food and body - Movement goals and physical activity - And more! Fees and payment: 50 minute Individual Psychotherapy session: $140* 50 minute Couples Psychotherapy session: $150* 50 minute Nutritional Counseling session: 140* *Reduced rates may be available for students, those unemployed/underemployed, or others who demonstrate financial need.
